What are the characteristics of OBH-20180 Dual-Ridged Horn Antennas? The OBH-20180 Dual-Ridged Horn Antennas cover the Ku band from 2GHz to 18GHz. The antenna supports Single Linear polarized waveforms. The ridges in a waveguide or horn cause capacitance effects and therefore decrease the cut-off frequency of the dominant propagating mode, increasing the single-mode bandwidth. The initial distance between ridges is one of the significant effective parameters in controlling VSWR. The axial distance between the center of the probe and the aperture of the cavity can affect VSWR in the very low and very high extremes of the frequency band and is one of the crucial factors in shaping the main lobe in high frequencies. This parameter also affects the gain of the antenna at the high-frequency side of the band. The gain increases with frequency up to approx.15 dBi, depending on the horn's size and shape. VSWR of the entire standing wave bandwidth is less than 2.0, and the bandwidth of OBH-20180 is 50% wider than that of the same type of antenna. Additionally, it has an N-type interface and can handle more than 200W. It weighs only 4000g and comes with a box for easy transportation and testing.
